A very fine shawl

A very fine shawl

As we are nearing the end of 2021, it is safe to conclude that my weaving year has revolved around echo threadings. I started using two parallel threadings in Turned Taquete, and tried out three echoes with the Corris effect. Next up were the echo-4 and echo-8 techniques of Marian Stubenitsky, for which I also became acquainted with network treadlings. I have had so much fun exploring echoes in this way.

One design, lots of echoes

One design, lots of echoes

My weaving life has been revolving around echoes for months now. With any chosen combination of 8 colors in mind, one could go with either the echo-4 or echo-8 technique to make a wonderful project. I decided to do a fun experiment to compare cloths yielded by these techniques.

The perfect present

The perfect present

Last year, I became a member of the Dutch Weaving Association Weefnetwerk. To my surprise, they sent me a lovely gift by by mail sometime in November 2020. To make up for the lack of physical activities, each member received a colourful set of weaving cotton. This was such a nice surprise - the perfect present for every hand weaver.
